like a blank page

This is a baby hat I knit for a friend who is due any day now. I knit it out of a white cotton blend that I bought somewhere on sale. Yes. it's modeled on an acorn squash. I was told by those in the know that was the approximate size for a newborn.

I had originally thought of making my trademark baby hat with I-cord at the top tied in a knot, but as I was knitting, I could only think that it would look like a tampon on top of the baby's head. I don't want to be the reason the kid spends his/her life in therapy. So, I finished it sans I-cord, and will embroider something cute and colorful on it instead.

Ahh, but what to embroider? Creative types, appreciating moms, even you cynical anti-cute crusaders, please, help me out here!
